Running on Vacation

There is nothing like spending some time traveling and discovering new places.
With 2 days off, I decided it was perfect for a small vacation and off to the beach we went!

Ricardo & Angela Dionisio at Grand Bend beach

We went to Grand Bend beach and I found this hidden jem trough #OntarioSouthwest Instagram account and what a place!

Grand Bend beach reminds me of my hometown with long sandy beaches, beautiful blue water (that looks like the ocean btw) and local shops!

We also went to Pinery Provincial Park so our dog could enjoy the vacay by the beach too!

Besides the fun part of being on a vacation, there is always down time specially in the morning when everybody is lazy and just wants to relax.

And there is nothing wrong with that! But instead of staying in bed for a couple more hours, why not make time for a run?

Thats what came to my mind even before leaving home. So I packed my running gear and brought with me.

After a fun day by the beach, next day I woke up earlier and I decided to go for a easy 8k run beside the lake.

It was an awesome opportunity to run in a new location and to see things in a different perspective.

It was the first time I ran while on vacation and I loved it! And I will repeat for sure :)

Summer day in Bruce Peninsula, Ontario

Our family visited us from Portugal and we wanted to show them a different side of Canada. They only knew the cold Canadian winters so we planned a trip to Bruce Peninsula to enjoy a beautiful summer day.

Bruce Peninsula National Park is 3 hours away from Toronto and it's an amazing location for anyone who loves outdoors.

There is a lot to see and explore and for sure we will return!

We drove all the way to the mountains and we visited some iconic places like: Moraine Lake, Lake Louise and Johnston Canyon.

We only had a few hours on each location and because we loved so much, we are already making plans to go back!

3 days in Ottawa, Ontario - Canada

Enjoying the day at Parliament Hill

For Victoria day long weekend we decided to travel to the capital of Canada, Ottawa.

Being a Photographer traveling light is always hard. For that reason we decided to buy the Fujifilm X-T1 to be our small personal camera! This was our gear to enjoy the stay and take some photos:

Ottawa has a lot to see and visit. From Monuments, Museums, to beautiful parks. You feel overwhelmed with so much the city as to offer!

We tried to get the most of by visiting the main touristic attractions such as The National War Memorial, Parliament Hill, Nepean Point, Rideau Canal and others.

Even though it was cloudy, that did not hold us back from visiting the city of Ottawa and taking some pictures!

During our stay, we got the chance to go on the Lady Drive Amphibus.

Bus tours are not usually our interest when we visit a new place but when we saw the hybrid bus/boat tour we had to try it!

We couldn't be happier! The tour was amazing and the guide was very informative giving lots of insights about the city.

For sure a must if you plan to visit Ottawa!

Before heading home, we visited the Canadian Tulip Festival.

The location where this festival takes place is right by Dow's Lake. This lake and it's surroundings are just breathtaking! We couldn't help ourselves from renting a canoe and enjoying the best of what nature has to offer!

Ottawa is an amazing must visit location in Canada :)
